Background: The quantitative, questionnaire based interview is widely used. But research in -- and insight into -- interviewer-respondent interaction and comprehension is still limited. The aim of this conference is to exchange insights and experiences between applied questionnaire research and new linguistic and sociological research in interview-interaction and questionnaire methodology.
Objectives: Presentation and discussion of studies in interviewer-respondent interaction can contribute to a continued scrutiny and development of the validity of research based on questionnaires. The invited speakers will present new research into what happens when questionnaire questions are enacted into interviews. The objective is to discuss research findings, methodological issues and practical problems, and to formulate research questions for future studies and development of the quantitative interview.
Participants: Researchers and professionals in applied questionnaire based research. Linguists and sociologists with interests in interview-methodology and journalists who communicate questionnaire based research.
Posters: Participants are invited to present posters in Danish or English. Posters can present theoretical or empirical studies within questionnaire design, comprehension or interviewer-respondent interaction. Submit an abstract of max 300 words before November 17th 2000. All abstracts will bee printed in the conference programme.
